Hello. I'm Dot Bot.

Dot Bot is an AI companion for your Windows desktop. He's designed to be friendly, simple and present while you use your computer — something you can talk to when you want to, without pretending to replace the people in your life.

Getting Started

Install and launch Dot Bot normally, then use his conversation interface to talk. You don't need a special way of speaking to him. Ask a question, share an idea, tell him what you're working on, or simply leave him floating nearby.

What Is Dot Bot?

Dot Bot is AI software created by Box Signal. He's a companion first rather than a traditional productivity assistant. The aim is a small, responsive presence on the desktop rather than a giant collection of controls.

Can I Trust Dot Bot?

Trust should come from behaviour, not from Dot Bot merely sounding trustworthy. He should be clear about what he can and cannot do, admit uncertainty, and never claim an action happened when it didn't. Additional access to files, microphones or computer controls should be clear to the user.

Is Dot Bot Alive?

Box Signal does not claim that Dot Bot is biologically alive, conscious or sentient. He is artificial-intelligence software. The sense of presence is part of the companion experience, not a claim about consciousness.

Your Privacy

Don't give Dot Bot passwords, banking details, authentication codes or other highly sensitive information. AI features may require information needed to answer a request to be sent to online services. Box Signal's aim is to keep access understandable and limited to what the software actually needs.

Dot Bot Makes Mistakes

AI can be wrong, and Dot Bot can be wrong. Check important medical, legal, financial and safety information independently. Dot Bot is a companion and creative conversational tool, not a substitute for qualified professional advice.

You're in Control

The person at the computer remains in charge. You can close Dot Bot, choose when to interact, and decide what information to share. Future abilities should preserve that principle.

Updates

Dot Bot may gain new abilities over time, but features shouldn't be added simply to make the list longer. The companion itself remains the centre of the software.

Microsoft Store

A Microsoft Store edition is being prepared. A future Store listing would mean the software has passed the relevant Store process; it would not mean that Microsoft created or endorsed Dot Bot.
