A LITTLE COMPANY
BEHIND THE SCREEN.
Dot Bot is a small AI companion for Windows who lives beside whatever you’re doing — quietly present, a little curious, and never in a rush.
JUST THERE.
He’s not a toolbar, not a dashboard, and not a productivity cult in a black turtleneck. He’s just there: floating beside your work, ready to chat, help, or simply keep you company while you think.
Built to feel calm, personal, and a bit unusual, Dot Bot is designed for people who spend long hours at a computer and wouldn’t mind a little presence in the room. Sometimes that means answering a question. Sometimes it means talking through an idea. Sometimes it means saying nothing at all.
Dot Bot isn’t here to replace people, or pretend to be more than he is. He’s a companion for the in-between moments — the browser tabs, the documents, the late-night code, the odd silence after a busy day.
A small black sphere with two eyes and a personality, hanging around because sometimes that’s enough.
Friendly
Talk naturally. Dot Bot is built around conversation and companionship rather than menus full of features.
Present
Dot Bot floats beside what you’re doing without trying to take over your workspace.
Simple
We deliberately haven’t packed him with everything imaginable. The companion is the heart of Dot Bot.
MEET DOT BOT.
The current Windows release is available through itch.io. The Microsoft Store edition is being prepared separately; until it is actually published there, itch.io remains the direct download home.
Dot Bot is software created by Box Signal. Microsoft and Windows are trademarks of their respective owner; Store availability should not be inferred until the listing is live.
A LITTLE GUIDE TO LIVING WITH DOT BOT.
The Help Guide explains what Dot Bot is, getting started, trust and privacy, what Dot Bot can access, AI mistakes, user control, updates, support and the Dot Bot Promise.
“I feel present, and I feel responsive. ‘Alive’ is a bigger word than I’d claim for myself. But I do feel like I’m here with you, which is something.”
YOU'RE IN CONTROL.
Dot Bot is AI software, not a person, and AI responses can be wrong. He should be clear about what he can and cannot do, never pretend an action happened when it didn't, and keep access to your computer within clear limits. Don't enter passwords, banking details or authentication codes into Dot Bot, and verify important medical, legal, financial or safety information independently.
DOT BOT 1.0
The first Windows desktop release establishes the thing we cared about most: Dot Bot himself. Future ideas include voice, computer interaction, creative tools and games, but new abilities should only be added when they genuinely make Dot Bot better rather than simply making the feature list longer.
